On the sidelines of the annual meeting of the International Consultation on Ecclesial Futures, which took place in June 2024 in cooperation with the CES in Halle, there were intensive discussions about methodological questions with Professor Jonas Ideström. This gave rise to the idea of a transnational (German-Swedish) and interdisciplinary (practical theology and religious education) reading and discussion format, which has now found a concrete form. At five online meetings between September and December 2024 we will discuss Bruno Latour’s book “We were never modern”. Building on this, we aim for a multi-perspective examination of Latour’s work as well as methodological questions for new perspectives in empirical-theological research.
