Bishops’ Conference VELKD

How can the church be rethought and redesigned if it is consistently understood as church in a secular society? How can international and ecumenical perspectives be helpful? Dr. Hanna Kauhaus from the Research Unit for Church and Community Theory (KÖW) on March 17th presented at the closed meeting of the Bishops’ Conference of the United Evangelical Lutheran Church of Germany (VELKD) the research center’s projects. The bishops, including guests from Eastern and Northern European countries, exchanged views on the internal organization of the church and its political and social role. You can find further impressions here.

CES-Talk with regional bishop Kristina Kühnbaum-Schmidt

What challenges does church leadership currently face? What expectations of theological research arise from this? These and other exciting questions were the topic on April 22nd, 2024 in the “CES-Talk”, our online forum, between State Bishop Kristina Kühnbaum-Schmidt, a member of our scientific advisory board and, among other things, deputy leading bishop of the VELKD, and part of the CES team. Once again, the open exchange proved beneficial. The next CES talk will take place on April 29, 2024, with Regional Bishop Dr. Christoph Meyns.

Evangelism/Evangelization

Cover Evangelisation Verlosung

We cordially invite you to an online conference on April 4, 2024 about the book and a discussion about future perspectives for evangelism.

What is Evangelism? The IEEG research institute at the University of Greifswald has been researching this topic for several decades. Our “partner institute” IMK in Austria and the MKG research unit at the University of Halle are continuing this work.

The new book Evangelization makes the theological basics accessible. The collective of authors opens up multi-perspective approaches to the topic of evangelization from a historical, systematic-theological and practical-theological perspective.

We cordially invite you to the online conference about the book and to the discussion about future perspectives.

Dr. Patrick Todjeras (on behalf of the organization team)

We cordially invite you to our online-event and discussion.
